Coronavirus threat: refugee camp closed in Iraq
The authorities of Dahuk province in Iraqi Kurdistan decided to quarantine the Syrian refugee camp Domiz after a medical staff member identified a coronavirus infection. This was announced on June 28 by the Shafak News portal, citing a representative of the Dahuk Health Department. Coronavirus was found in one of the employees of the medical center on the territory of the camp, after which it was decided to close the camp for quarantine, the portal quotes a representative of the health department. According to him, at the moment a circle of persons with whom the infected person was in contact is being established, they are undergoing medical tests to detect infection. In addition, if the epidemiological situation in the camp worsens, additional quarantine measures may be introduced. According to the news agency, in Iraq over the past day, 2,069 cases of coronavirus of a new type were detected, the total number of confirmed infections of SARS-CoV-2 in the country reached 43,262.
