Yemeni Houthis release six Baha'is

Yemeni Houthis released six previously arrested members of the Bahá'í sect, Reuters reported on July 30. Bahá'í International welcomed the release. One of the released, Hamed bin Haidar, was previously sentenced to death, but pardoned, like the other five. Bahá'ís, who split from Islam the sect, venerate Bahá'u as the new prophet of their 19th-century teacher. Followers of the sect are in many countries of the world. See also:
