South Korea and Cambodia to hold second round of FTA negotiations

From August 31 to September 3, representatives of South Korea and Cambodia will negotiate the creation of a free trade zone (FTA). It is reported by KBS with reference to representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. According to them, representatives of the Ministries of Trade, Strategy and Finance, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and representatives of the Ministry of Trade, as well as the Economy and Finance will take part in the negotiations from the South Korean side. It is known that the first round of negotiations, during which the parties discussed the general principles of the future agreement, took place at the end of July. During the second round, representatives of the two countries will discuss the principles of economic cooperation, criteria for determining the country of origin of goods and other issues. It should be noted that South Korea already has free trade agreements with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), but the country also seeks to conclude separate agreements with the member countries of the organization.
