Google blocked the app InfoWars for fakes about coronavirus

From the store for Android devices Google Play removed the app InfoWars, through which spread false information about the pandemic coronavirus. Wired reports this. The app InfoWars belongs to American journalist and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. Through it he distributed his articles and videos, as well as information materials of other authors. Recent publications distributed through the app cited the inefficiency of quarantine interventions to slow the coronavirus outbreak. Food supplements allegedly protecting against coronavirus were also advertised in articles and videos. In this regard, Google decided to remove the application for spreading false information. It is noted that before its removal it was loaded by more than 100 thousand users. Now more than ever, fighting disinformation in the Play Store is a top priority for the company. When we find apps that violate Play policy by spreading misleading or malicious information, we remove them from the store, commented on Google. As previously reported by the news agency, on March 27, the administration of the social network Twitter at the request of Roskomnadzor removed false reports about the imposition of a curfew in Moscow.
