The spokesman for the Ministry of Defence of Turkey, Nadide Sebnem Aktop, announced the dismissal of some 20,000 FETO members, which she reported at a press conference held in Ankara on 13 March. Since 2016, 19 thousand 75 people have been dismissed from military service and accused of involvement in the organization of FETO. 5,000 181 people were brought to trial. FETO is considered a terrorist organization in Turkey and its activities in the territory of the state are prohibited. Its leader, religious preacher Fethullah Gulen, is accused of attempting a coup d 'état.
