42 people arrested in China on face mask speculation charges

The authorities of China arrested 42 suspects in 20 criminal cases related to the price of raw materials for the production of face masks against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, reported on April 17 agency Xinhua. According to the Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China, the suspects speculated on blow fabric key material used for the production of masks. Thus, they illegally earned about 34.45 million yuan (about $4.87 million). Police in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shandong and Henan provinces uncovered all these cases as part of a special campaign to combat illegal activities. The police will continue a campaign.
