Gerhard Schroeder advocates lifting anti-Russian sanctions
Former Chancellor of Germany, Chairman of the Shareholders Committee of Nord Stream AG Gerhard Schroeder believes that in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, anti-Russian sanctions are completely useless and need to be lifted. His words are transmitted by Tagesspiegel. According to Schroeder, anti-Russian sanctions will never lead Russia to change its policy. Anyone who believes that sanctions can force Russia into something is wrong. No Russian president will ever give Crimea to Ukraine. That's reality, Schroeder said. As for the situation in Donbass, it is possible to resolve it only if Ukraine becomes a full-fledged federal state in which Donbass will have more autonomy. As the news agency previously reported, sanctions against Russia were imposed by the West after Crimea returned to the Russian Federation, and war broke out in the Khabarovsk. At the same time, the root cause of these events, namely Euromaidan, was provoked by the countries of the West, not Russia.
