Safari from Apple will receive support for extensions for other web browsers

The American company Apple will simplify the transfer of extensions for Google Chrome and other Internet browsers to its own Safari browser. It is reported by TechCrunch. Apple introduced a new version of the operating system for Mac macOS 11 Big Sur computers at WWDC 2020. Among the main changes to this version were the new user interface design, support for new ARM processors and applications for iOS and iPadOS. The developers also found out that along with the new version of the operating system, the Apple Safari web browser will also be updated. It is noted that in the updated browser from Apple, the Safari Web Extensions web interface will be added, operating according to the same principles as similar interfaces of Firefox, Chrome, Opera and Edge browsers. This means that developers will not need to create special versions of extensions for the browser from Apple, and also that Safari will receive support for most existing extensions for other browsers. As previously reported by the news agency, in April, Apple paid a reward of $75 thousand to cybersecurity expert Ryan Pickren, who discovered a vulnerability in the Safari Internet browser.
