Syria asks Russia for drugs to combat coronavirus

The authorities of the Syrian Arab Republic requested drugs from the Russian Federation to combat coronavirus. This was announced today, July 2, in an interview with RIA Novosti by Syrian Deputy Minister of Health Ahmad Khleifavi. He recalled that there is comprehensive cooperation between Russia and Syria in all areas. There was a request to the Russian side to provide us with some drugs necessary in the fight against coronavirus. We are currently discussing their supply, said Chleifavy. The deputy head of the Syrian Ministry of Health noted that the increasing US sanctions put great pressure on the health sector, which complicated the already difficult process of supplying medicines and essential equipment.
